Letter from Elder Morton, 04.06.09

Subject: Working it in the Jungle!
Date: Mon, 6 Apr 2009 14:41:22

Hey Y’all family and friends:

I received two boxes one of which had shampoo, calcium tabs, and shades, Simply Products. The other had three plastic bags full of protein powder, cookies, 2 boxes of cereal and STUFF FROM February 9th with pictures and all.

I still haven’t received that mystery card. So far I haven’t received that box with toothpaste but I bought some more recently so I should be good for a while.

Brandon has really grown up! Is he doing any sports or going to the gym? I hope so.
As for me I am growing up also. I am continually changing every day for the better. I am less lazy, and my view on life is more and more positive. I am working hard and beginning to be effective as a missionary which is crazy for those of you who know what I was like before around people I didn’t know! The only thing negative is that you guys wont recognize me when I get back. I am SKINNY, BALD, and BLONDE! I sent you guys a letter last week it should get there soon, enjoy! Let me know how my loved ones are such as Jimmie and all my crew.

Love you all,
Elder Morton

Elder Morton wrote in Spanish the first two paragraphs, that he has been pre-occupied with serving the lord and had neglected to write sooner.

Mom, Dad, Family & Friends:

I got your email Monday, March 23rd but after writing you my PC went down and I lost the entire message. I was unable to get back into my LDS mail.

Mom & Dad I want to congratulate you for finding time to attend church despite all the craziness of the adversary going on in your lives right now. Go as often as possible. I was sorry to hear you have to work Monday thru Sunday. I pray with Obama's new plan you can stop working on Sundays and resume going to church every Sunday possible. I know huge blessings are instore for you guys. I feel it. As long as you don't put the Lord on the back burner you will never lack, you willhave enough of what you need.

My trainer Elder Sanez should be getting in contact with you soon through email, phone, or something so now it won't be a surprise. He's a great guy and he is going to try to visit you guys sometime within a year so be ready for that. Don't worry he is crazy like the rest of usso you should have a lot of laughs. When possible I would like you to introduce him to the business, but don't jump on it right away. I talked to him about it and he is a 5% all the way, so when you sign him up it would be awesome if you could put him as my second leg.

On that note I hear things are hectic right now at the house and that James is planning on moving out or at least, thinking of doing so. I am speechless....good for him! I knew he could do it, he just needed a good enough reason I guess. I am sorry to hear about Annette. I pray things work out for her. It wouldn't hurt her to have the missionaries over and listen to the lessons, not only for her but Justin and Brandon. The faith, hope, and personal strength that living the gospel of Jesus Christ provides us is exactly what they lack and with those things in their lives they will be a whole lot happier.

How are you and Dad doing in general besides working so hard? How are Wally & Mike and the Morton ladies doing? Hanging in there I hope.

I would love it if you would send me photos of Semaj, China, & Zion Semaj! Semaj is such a good guy, I was a thoughtless, selfish kid and because of that I lost out on so many years as his friend, because in reality he is the only one I still know that was a buddy of mine since we were in diapers.

Take care of yourselves! You guys, working hard is good, but working smart is better! Use the business to win back time and freedom financially consistantly every day until you can say Ciao to both of your jobs and be much better off.

Please say Hi to all of my friends in the Rocklin 2nd & 6th Wards and tell Jimmie & Futaba, Kevin, and our family & friends such as Bill, Sue, and the Young Guns Hello from me.

I Love you all!

1st Letter From Elder Morton from Lima, Peru, 08.27.08

Hey Mom & Dad,
I have reached my mission home in Lima, Peru and the President and his wife are great!
The Elders are nice & my companion is a good guy from what I hear.
All of your packages made it to the mission home. When I get to my area I will see which ones came. I will write you to confirm. I may or may not email you today but if I can I will. So far so good, I am alive and well.
I am excited to teach the gospel to develop a stronger relationship of Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. It will be hard but I knew that to begin with.
The most important thing is that I concentrate on becoming the best missionary that I can be, so that you all will be blessed spiritually, & temporally, as our faith is tested.
I love you guys and pray for you every day. I know no matter if we work hard with our eyes set on eternal salvation things will work out for the best.
Never give up!
Love,
Rob
