Letter from Elder Morton, 02.16.09

Subject: I'm going to Pulcalpa!
Date: Mon, 16 Feb 2009 14:44:33

Hey family!

I came to internet and found out there is an emergency change and I'm going to the Jungle! It's cool but I am a bit sad because my new companion here in Supe Puerto Elder Mamani is really cool and a great missionary. The weather here in Supe Puerto is great but I have no idea what to expect in Pulcalpa.

Wow that is so cool you heard from Robbie. How is Robbie Cook? He's probably doing really well as a missionary because he is a natural leader and knows the gospel very well. Next time you write him send out a shout from me!

In regaurds to Jordan use the saying that has become my adopted phrase, "Poco a poco" Little by little, don't try to do too much too soon, all that means is that you don't try to do more than you are physically or mentally capable of doing, but that doesnt mean its ok to be a wuss!

I received two of your boxes today but I don't know what is in them yet. I think they are the ones from December. RE: Products discontinued, these things happen with products and business but we move on and work around it, because the product doesn't matter as much as being a good, successful business owner.

So the Roes are doing their thing, and staying out of trouble, that is a blessing in itself. Things will get better I know this to be true, we just have to do the things that will pay off in the long run such as the business and making time in your busy schedule to go to church. I am getting to the point to where contacts are not super tough which is cool and the same goes for Spanish. Things are starting to come together to where I am almost completely self sufficient in this world of Spanish missionary work.

I am really looking forward to this new adventure in the jungle. Don't worry I will be fine. Please send a shout out and my love as well to my family & friends and everyone in Rocklin 2nd and 6th.
Love you all!

1st Letter From Elder Morton from Lima, Peru, 08.27.08

Hey Mom & Dad,
I have reached my mission home in Lima, Peru and the President and his wife are great!
The Elders are nice & my companion is a good guy from what I hear.
All of your packages made it to the mission home. When I get to my area I will see which ones came. I will write you to confirm. I may or may not email you today but if I can I will. So far so good, I am alive and well.
I am excited to teach the gospel to develop a stronger relationship of Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. It will be hard but I knew that to begin with.
The most important thing is that I concentrate on becoming the best missionary that I can be, so that you all will be blessed spiritually, & temporally, as our faith is tested.
I love you guys and pray for you every day. I know no matter if we work hard with our eyes set on eternal salvation things will work out for the best.
Never give up!
Love,
Rob
