Letters From Elder Morton, 01-12-09

Todo esta bien en Supe!‏
Mon 1/12/09 8:10 AM

Yo family!

I am about 3 or 4 blocks from the ocean in a province just out side of Lima. It's a lot like San Francisco near the pier. Smells like fish and there is a nice breeze that keeps things from being too hot. It's a fishing town in which people are a little more stable economically so it's a little less depressing. It's weird because there aren't many people in the streets or at home because almost everyone is working in a factory with fish or on a fishing boat, so contacting is different.

I have yet to recieve any boxes but I think this Tuesday when we have our zone meeting I might get those depending on the Elders in the office and if they feel like not being lazy. :-)

As of now I could use body lotion and maybe other things but they don't come to mind. My new companion is Elder Ayala and although I heard he is a arrogant dude he has turned out to be a good guy so far. He is from Lima, Peru and really know his stuff as far as the gospel goes. I hope everyone in California are doing well and if you can tell Alberto why I am here and maybe refer him to that web site you started and someone can get something from it because I can't see it for another year and a half!

Today I sent a letter to you and Rob A(in the same envelope). So you should get that in a few weeks. As always work hard, play hard, and have no regrets! Also if you keep working the business I know that will be a great blessing financially, but the key is not to think like a consumer but a business owner because afterall thats what you are.

I love you all!

From Peru to you,

Elder Morton

1st Letter From Elder Morton from Lima, Peru, 08.27.08

Hey Mom & Dad,
I have reached my mission home in Lima, Peru and the President and his wife are great!
The Elders are nice & my companion is a good guy from what I hear.
All of your packages made it to the mission home. When I get to my area I will see which ones came. I will write you to confirm. I may or may not email you today but if I can I will. So far so good, I am alive and well.
I am excited to teach the gospel to develop a stronger relationship of Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. It will be hard but I knew that to begin with.
The most important thing is that I concentrate on becoming the best missionary that I can be, so that you all will be blessed spiritually, & temporally, as our faith is tested.
I love you guys and pray for you every day. I know no matter if we work hard with our eyes set on eternal salvation things will work out for the best.
Never give up!
Love,
Rob
