Subject: New years was cool and I am alive!
Date: Mon, 5 Jan 2009 14:49:50 +0000
Hey everybody!
Regarding last Monday I wrote you but it was later in the afternoon because Monday is the day we had our multi zones where we say goodbye to those who are finished with their mission/ Christmas party deal.
I wrote you about noon or one on the 29th, so I guess the iffy computer deal here failed me on that day. New years was cool, there were a ton of fireworks and we took picture in crazy yellow hats and 2009 glasses because I guess yellow means good luck or fortune?
Regarding changes those are tomorrow, Tuesday the 6th and I get to go north to a place called Barranca which is all beach. I heard its cool and green, and not to mention HOT! Its all good, at least I get to go to a place that is GREEN and not just rock, dirt and hills! Needless to say I will take some good pictures so you all get a good feel for the area. As of now I have recieved all three pairs of pants and thanks because I will need them! As of now I haven't recieved the box with cookies or those ties and sling shot but we have a change meeting tomorrow near the offices so I will get whatever boxes they have for me as of now, I think.
Rob A needs to work the business consistantly enough so that it becomes profitable, which requires effort but is worth it. Also he should remember he can work the business two ways at the same time: One as a salesman marking the product up to make a profit on each sell and two by adding to his legs ambitious people which will help him a ton in the long run make that money that keeps on coming in more and more every month. In this manner with some focus he will not have to worry near as much about money, also he will get tax benifits for proof of him trying to make a profit as a business owner if he saves his gas and business related expenses receipts. It's all about that 5% thinking.
Wow things are rough huh? I will continue to pray and work harder so you guys get those blessings that I believe you deserve.
Christmas was cool for me I got to chill and take a nap after I talked with you guys and then we joked around with the other missionaries for the rest of the night.
So Joyce called from Texas and wants to write me. Oh thats cool I would love to keep in touch with Joyce, and Semaj! What is the zip code for Semaj?
A final note since you didn't get my last email tell Justin I am proud of him going to Oregon University for his music. It is a great accomplishment and if he continues to work hard and keep his nose clean things will work out well for him. The same goes for Brandon, he is a smart young man and if he focuses his efforts the only limit is those he sets for himself, so in reality there are no limits! He can be whatever he wants to be! The same goes for all of you guys. We set the limits on ourselves. God wants so much more for us than we can even immagine, but we must all remember that we truely are sons and daughters of God, this I know to be true. There is no doubt he is our heavenly father which means there is no limit to what we are capable of. Good or bad, thats the decision.
Much love to you all this New Year and may 2009 be better than 2008!
Love,

1st Letter From Elder Morton from Lima, Peru, 08.27.08
Hey Mom & Dad,
I have reached my mission home in Lima, Peru and the President and his wife are great!
The Elders are nice & my companion is a good guy from what I hear.
All of your packages made it to the mission home. When I get to my area I will see which ones came. I will write you to confirm. I may or may not email you today but if I can I will. So far so good, I am alive and well.
I am excited to teach the gospel to develop a stronger relationship of Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. It will be hard but I knew that to begin with.
The most important thing is that I concentrate on becoming the best missionary that I can be, so that you all will be blessed spiritually, & temporally, as our faith is tested.
I love you guys and pray for you every day. I know no matter if we work hard with our eyes set on eternal salvation things will work out for the best.
Never give up!
Love,
Rob
